We are learning how specific reading strategies support our comprehension of a text (Post-it Notes);
We are learning to pay attention to the experiences revealed in texts, and what they may teach us about our own lives (Why we study literature);
We are learning to use a reading process to help us identify how author’s use the narrative elements to create meaning (Notice & Note).

First:  Reading, Tracking your reading, and Noticing & Noting.—20 mins

Second:  Characterization–Complete the organizer for Roger. Then you will complete one for Mrs. Jones on your own. Put both organizers in the class bin.
